Prayer In Motion

An Invitation to be fully present, connect with god, and pray with your whole self

Book reviewer, Priscilla holding Uncomplicate It

I’m a girl who values faith and wellness, and the beautiful intersection of the two, so that I may stand before God whole in body, soul, and spirit.

Being an avid reader and student of the Word, I’m always looking for resources that will strengthen me in my spiritual disciplines. When I learned about Prayer in Motion by Jennifer Tucker, I knew I needed to read it. This book is a gentle invitation to experience prayer in a fresh, embodied way—where movement becomes worship, and your physical self is embraced as an integral part of your spiritual journey.

Prayer in Motion has become a lovely part of my mornings. I read a section at a time, which takes me about 5 minutes each day. I also love that you can skip around—it makes the book easy to enjoy and digest at your own pace. The illustrations by Jennifer Tucker are beautiful and truly bring the content to life.

Some features of this book include:

  • Helpful guides for creating daily prayer rhythms that keep you anchored to God as you move through your day
  • An embodied look at how your body processes stress and the ways movement can be a conduit to hope and healing
  • An introduction to somatic practices, including the purposes and benefits of such practices
  • Guided embodied prayers that gently lead you to move your body as you turn your heart toward God
  • Practical tools, including grounding techniques, movement activities, and connection practices, that can help ease stress and promote rest and restoration

The idea of prayer in motion is a way for us to stay fully present with God as we continually pray throughout our days and walk in a lane of rest. God made us body, soul, and spirit—and I’m finding how important it is that we leave none of ourselves behind before the Lord.

It’s so powerful to know we can come before Him with our whole selves, unashamed. Offering our bodies as a living sacrifice, our minds fully submitted to God, and our hearts open for renewal and direction from our Father.

I look forward to continuing my journey through Prayer in Motion each morning—and I think you will too.

Rebuild Your Temple God’s Way®

A 30-Day journey to holistic health & Wellness

Book reviewer, Priscilla holding Uncomplicate It

Body, soul, and spirit care are easily neglected when life is overwhelming, exhausting, and strained. I’ve seen firsthand how they suffer.

As a woman living with bipolar disorder for over 15 years, I’ve gone through phases of poor physical health, mental health, and a strained relationship with God. While that may sound overwhelming, I’ve found that when I trust the process of recovery and lean on my Savior, these three pillars of my being begin to suffer less.

Perhaps you can relate: Have you found yourself facing a trial or a chronic illness that has left you completely depleted? If so, let me share something that could be valuable. In my own experience, I recently found encouragement in a devotional and Bible study guide that has blessed me in ways I wish I had experienced years ago.

After years of mental health challenges, I have entered a season of intentional pursuit: reclaiming my physical health, maintaining my mental health recovery, and growing deeper in my relationship with God. In this season, I had the chance to review the Rebuild Your Temple God’s Way® Devotional and Bible Study Workbook. I sensed immediately that God placed this in my hands at the right time.

This quote from the author sticks with me:

“My journey mirrored the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, devastated and rebuilt more than once.” — Stephanie L. Franklin-Suber.

Wow, me too.

My life has been devastated by mental illness, but God—in his infinite love—has rebuilt me as I trust the process of healing and continue my journey. I am confident he’ll keep rebuilding me, no matter the circumstance, as long as I remain obedient. Remembering this brings me perfect peace.

Sister, maybe you know that feeling of striving but still running on empty.

Well, as long as you have breath in your body, it’s never too late. We serve a restorative God!

Now that you understand how this resource came into my life, I want to share the impact it has had on my daily routine. This 30-day journey in the Rebuild Your Temple God’s Way® resources has been such a refreshing start to my day.

The devotional gives me space to meditate on scripture, reflect, pray, journal, speak affirmations rooted in God’s Word, and receive a daily health coaching tip. And can you believe I get this done in about 5 -10 minutes a day? The study workbook goes even deeper, helping me study, discover, and actually put my faith into action. I sometimes prefer to do the study later in the day, but my favorite way to include it is after my devotional because it builds on that and helps me grow.

This devotional and discipleship system by Stephanie L. Franklin-Suber—a certified Christian health coach and award-winning author with lived experience in God’s miraculous power to heal—guides you to wholeness through a biblical framework:

Restore Your Body. Renew Your Soul. Realign Your Spirit.™
