As a lifelong Berenstain Bears fan, receiving these timeless books in the mail was such a pleasure. In today’s post, I have three book suggestions, perfect for Easter baskets or gift giving all year long. These nostalgic treasures are beautifully illustrated bringing fun to reading and life to each word from cover to cover.

Faith-filled gift number one is The Berenstain Bears and the Easter Story. This story holds a special message for children during this season. Helping them to remember Easter is not about candy and egg hunts, but most importantly, about Jesus. This story is the perfect read as the end of the Lenten season is often bombarded with the Easter bunny.

Next up, The Berenstain Bears and the Very First Easter. It’s the perfect, straightforward, and beautifully illustrated retelling of our Savior’s final days on Earth and His glorious resurrection told by the Berenstain Bear Family themselves. Reading this book with a little one opens the door to deeper discussion around the significance of Easter.

Finally, The Berenstain Bears Storybook Bible Search and Find. This board book brings fun, interaction, and intrigue to Bible time for little ones.

Whether you are building out an Easter basket or looking for books to read together throughout the season, these three treasures. Faith, family, and a little nostalgia!

This Lenten season has been such a gift —

getting to share resources that I truly believe will leave a mark on the hearts of children we love.

As a book influencer, this is one of my favorite things to do. And honestly? It’s personal for me.

I grew up immersed in Jesus. Sunday school, Bible studies, Christian schooling — faith was poured into me from every direction. I wasn’t perfect. I’ve had seasons of stubbornness, sinful patterns the Holy Spirit had to break, and real battles with my faith in my 20s. But I never forgot what was planted in me. The Word, prophetic words, and prayers lifted on my behalf always brought me back to our Savior’s arms. As I’ve matured, I’ve surrendered, and I live a life of repentance and pursuit of God.

That journey is exactly why I’m passionate about getting faith resources into the hands of little ones early.

Here’s what I’m sharing today:

📖 Jesus, Our True Friend — seven stories from Jesus’ life by Sally Lloyd-Jones & Jago, filled with the good news and the deep, rescuing love of Immanuel.

🎨 Hey-O! Coloring Book — 90+ pages of Bible story coloring fun with tear-out pages for easy display. Creative, faith-building, and kids love it.

The Glorious Image of God — a beautiful way to help children understand they carry God’s image, building spiritual identity and God-given self-worth.

🤍 Deep Breath, Little Whisper — a sweet introduction to breath prayers, reminding kids that every praise, thank-you, and whispered request matters to their Heavenly Father.

My final thoughts

After having some time with these resources, these are my takeaways and why I recommend each of them!

Jesus, Our True FriendI love this book for its storybook-style narrative, which makes it simple for little hearts to follow along and learn about their Lord and Savior!

Hey-O! Coloring BookI appreciate the uniqueness of this coloring book. Each page is related to a Bible story and features a significant quote. This is a must-have for times when you want to read scripture to a child while keeping them engaged in the story. As they color the picture, the story comes to life before their eyes. It’s a must-have coloring book for teachable moments.

The Glorious Image of GodBeautiful illustrations and poetic storytelling make this children’s book stand out in any collection. It carries foundational teachings about the image of God and our worth.

Deep Breath, Little WhisperI give this book 5 stars for how it simplifies prayer for children by presenting everyday scenarios and quiet breath prayers that glorify God in response!

Kid’s Adventure Bible & Daily Devotional

NIV Bible Translation

kids adventure bible & daily devotional

A Bible for Kids

I truly believe that a child who experiences and takes to the Bible well depends on how the Word is presented. Children often enjoy books with illustrations that bring the story to life. Articles, fun facts, maps, activities, and character profiles enrich a child’s time spent reading. I recently received the Kid’s Adventure Bible & Daily Devotional in exchange for my honest review. When I received these resources, I was immediately taken in by the creative and colorful presentation. As I flipped through the Bible, I was pleased to see all the features, which included the articles and activities I mentioned. I immediately knew why this kid’s Bible is a #1 bestseller in full-text Bibles for kids. It isn’t simply black and white. It has many moments that personally pique my interest as I flip through. The Adventure Bible is used by more churches, schools, and homes than any other Bible for kids. It is definitely accessible and fun, taking children on a journey through God’s Word. Interesting biblical people, places, and events are just a few of the things readers of the Kid’s Adventure Bible learn. Also, I cannot forget that it opens the door to learning about God’s love.

A companion daily devotional

Now, daily devotionals deliberately position us to meditate on an area of scripture each day. Many adults, let alone children, have busy schedules. The Kid’s Adventure Bible Daily Devotional is one I find perfect for young people who want to make time for the Word, whether alone, during Sunday school, before school, or in the evening with family. Each devotional includes a Bible verse, perfect for opening the Bible and reading the entire chapter, or for reading before and after the verse for a deeper, Holy Spirit-led study. With this resource, kids enjoy 365 undated devotionals tackling topics faced every day, like self-esteem, courage, friendship, and more. Each daily devotional is one page and includes a Scripture verse, thoughtful reflection, and practical takeaway.

Take a look inside

My final thoughts

After having some time to test these resources, I can confidently recommend each of them for helping kids learn about the Bible, connect with God, grow in their faith, and take action as young soldiers for Christ. I believe they would work magnificently together, but either one can be used just as well.

As you enjoy this Lenten season and soon prepare for Resurrection Sunday, consider the Kids’ Adventure resources for your little ones’ Easter baskets.

Highlights & My Take on This Bible 🥁

The Filament-enabled Wide-Margin New Living Translation Bible is such a beautiful option for Bible journaling and intentional study. As soon as I opened the box, I was awed! It truly is prettier than the picture gives it credit. It has been a joy to flip through this Bible, begin to journal my notes, and explore the complimentary Bible App. The Filament App alone is priceless!

This Grace & Bloom LeatherLike® Bible is one I truly recommend. It lies flat at every point, making your Bible-reading time comfortable and distraction-free. You won’t have to hassle with losing your page as you study a chapter. It also includes the words of Jesus in red, a feature I deeply value because the Words of our Savior are like no other words spoken by man. In addition to those features, this Bible has a single-column layout that creates the perfect space for note-taking, journaling, and engaging with Scripture more personally. I’ve already opened to my favorite verse, 2 Timothy 1:7, and written a few personal notes.

Let me share what makes this Bible even more special…

The Filament App brings together traditional Bible reading and powerful digital resources in a seamless way. With just a simple scan of a page’s number, each page connects you to a rich library designed to deepen our understanding of God’s Word.

It’s the perfect way to read the word for yourself, meditate on it with your written thoughts, and open the app at your fingertips to dive deeper and record key insights of a passage.

A wealth of resources is what you’ll find inside the Filament experience:

o   25,000+ study notes for understanding

o   350+ videos for insight

o   40+ maps and infographics for context

400+ profiles and articles for enrichment

 1,500+ devotions for daily inspiration

o   audio Bibles for immersion

o   a library of worship music for personal reflection

In the App, you’ll find three helpful study pathways: Study, Reflect, and See—each designed to guide you into meaningful time in the Scriptures.

I’m excited to share that the Filament App is completely included with your Bible purchase. It’s like having an entire study library at your fingertips wherever you read. No additional expense required!

Moms of the Bible

Life-changing lessons from the Fearless, Flawed, and Faithful

Book reviewer, Priscilla holding Uncomplicate It

About the Book

Sometimes moms have the thought, “I’ll be a better mom tomorrow…” but this time never comes, and they question the quality of the mother they are. ‘Moms of the Bible’ is a women’s non-fiction book that explores the scriptures for lessons from moms of the Bible, who navigated motherhood and learned from the ups and downs of life. In this book, you will find moms of various backgrounds and types. Failure, faith, and hope are just a few of the attributes that describe them. Among the mothers you will read about are Rahab, Herodias, Hannah, Eve, and several more. Prepare for insights and powerful applications that will help moms raise children who impact their generation with fearless faith. Sit with author Rhonda Stoppe as she engages you with the warmth and wisdom of a trusted friend with personal experience. She speaks to mothers of all ages and stages, including stepmothers, adoptive mothers, foster mothers, and grandmothers raising grandchildren. Mom of the Bible is a thorough exploration of the sacred ministry of motherhood.

My Personal Thoughts & Review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rhonda Stoppe writes biblically grounded, literate retellings and explorations of various mothers in the Bible in ‘Moms of the Bible.’ Her work teaches fearless faith, finding hope, wisdom, and discernment from Jesus, which I find invaluably encouraging.

There are several features to this book that make it a five-star recommendation.

– An appendix that details how to have a relationship with Jesus. Perfect for unbelievers who pick up the book.

– Life lessons with questions and prompts at the end of each chapter.

– Thorough person breakdowns and observations about each mom of the Bible who is discussed.

– Frameworks throughout the book.

– An author video series with heartfelt lessons from Rhonda Stoppe for each chapter.

Finally, I love how this resource presents motherhood as a ministry that extends over generations. I not only recommend it to moms, but also to women who are believing for motherhood in their future. It is a true exploration of the moms of the Bible who were fearless, flawed, and faithful. A very realistic and timely resource.
